This question is a very common one. How can I help my child do better? Math can be very intimidating. I will freely admit it was not always my favorite class. It was confusing and complicated and what in the world are all of those letters and symbols for?
Three years ago, I began a journey to figure out how to make math make sense. Mr. Kiser asked me to be the third grade math teacher. Just me. Talk about intimidating. I was scared to death. So began the journey. What I have discovered along the way is that it really does make sense. It's not that hard, we just have to take it one step at a time.
In this blog, I want to help parents help their children. I want math to be fun. We learn through music and activities. Hopefully, some information here will help your child and you enjoy math.
Each time your child learns a new set of math facts, they learn a new song. I love Schoolhouse Rock. It is a blast from the past, but a great way for kids to remember those facts. Below is the song for our 8 facts. You can access the other links in the the video links to the left.
